Principal's report - Term 4 Week 5

Dear families,

Student led conferences and “Bangers and Maths” afternoon

Student led conferences for Semester 2 2024 will be held on Monday 18 November 2024 (next week). Classrooms will be open between 3:15pm - 4:30pm on this afternoon. Parents/carers are welcome to attend at any time during this timeframe.

At the conference, your child will facilitate a conversation with you where he/she will share class and individual learning goals, progress towards achieving them and what his/her next learning goals will be. You will have the opportunity to see what learning expectations are in place for your child, and to see how your child is progressing to meet those expectations. You will also have the opportunity to see your child’s classroom, look through their workbooks and see their work displayed. Other conferences for children will be occurring at the same time as your child’s conference. Teachers will be available to join this conversation that will be led by your child.

If you would also prefer to book in for an individual appointment with your child’s class teacher instead of attending the student-led conferences, please do so by contacting your child’s class teacher through our Seesaw app. Of course, as always, parents are encouraged to request an individual meeting with your child’s teacher at any time of the year to discuss your child’s achievement and growth.

It is the hope of our school that all children and a parent/carer attend the student led conferences or an individual appointment.

Following the conferences, a sausage sizzle will be held for parents who would like to attend a maths games session in the school hall from 4:30-5:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Transition to school 2025

Our transition to school program for our children starting Kindergarten in 2025 has completed. The children presented as a settled and happy grade. What a joy it was to see their smiling faces! We are all so excited to welcome our new families to our school in the new year.

If you are the parent of a child starting school in 2025, please contact our office to make a uniform booking.

Assemblies

Our school has reintroduced assemblies each Monday afternoon. Our school captains have displayed exemplary leadership in designing the agenda and leading the assemblies. The agenda is a mostly information/reminder giving opportunity about items such as events, sports news, wellbeing news and attendance. Thank you to our exemplary school leaders.
