Dear families,
Term 1 continues to race by. What a busy start to the year we have had!
Harmony Week
This week our school will be acknowledging Harmony Week. This is a celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. On Thursday, students are asked to wear orange or traditional cultural dress to acknowledge this special week in our school calendar. In addition, children will be participating in class activities that recognise and celebrate the many cultural backgrounds of the families from our school.
Easter celebrations
Our Easter celebrations are fast approaching. All children are asked to start making a hat at home for our upcoming Easter Hat Parade. The parade will be held on Thursday 28 March at 9am in our school hall. We hope many families can join us for this morning.
Please note that Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April are both public holidays to celebrate the Easter long weekend. Our school will not be operational on these two days.
Congratulations Mr Taue’e
In exciting news, Mr Johnny Taue’e has this week been successful in his application to be appointed as a permanent full-time School Learning Support Officer at our school. Mr Taue’e has been a highly valued and respected member of our staff for many years and is well deserving of achieving permanency. We all look forward to having Mr Taue’e supporting our children at WWPS for many years to come. Congratulations Mr T!
Showcase assemblies
Thank you to our families who joined us for last week’s Showcase Assemblies. Our children loved showcasing their learning.
NAPLAN 2024
Our students in Years 3 and 5 should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves during last week’s NAPLAN assessments. Students who were absent from school last week will participate in catch-up assessments this week.
Assets work
I thank our entire community for your patience and understanding during the recent renovations occurring in our office. We are anticipating that the work will be finished in the coming two weeks and we will have a larger administration area for use by our school.
