WoW Start - transition to school sessions

Wow Start – transition to school sessions are open to all families with a child starting Kindergarten in 2020 who live in our local area.

Children will participate in play and learning activities to support a successful start to school. Activities will include singing, story time and craft activities. In addition, a specific social skill will be taught each week. Your child will also have the opportunity to form positive and strong relationships with our Kindergarten teachers.

While children are playing and learning, parents and carers are invited to attend a workshop to learn about life at Wollongong West Public School. The workshop will have a different focus each week. Workshops will be fun, interactive and informative.

• 17 October 2019: Our school and the Kindergarten day
• 24 October 2019: Literacy learning in the early years
• 31 October 2019: Numeracy learning in the early years
• 7 November 2019: Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) learning in the early years
• 14 November 2019: Formative assessment and wellbeing
• 21 November 2019: School life – including our P&C, canteen, before and after school care and uniform.
