NSW Premier's Reading Challenge 2019

The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition, but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.

Your child has been given a reading log for the 2019 Premier's Reading Challenge. A copy of the reading log is also available to download (PDF 60KB). The book list which provides the books you can read appears on the Premier's Reading Challenge website. The booklist features over 11 000 titles, with over 1 000 new titles added in 2018.

The booklists cater for four levels: K-2, Years 3-4, Years 5-6, Years 7-9. Your child may have some Premier's Reading Challenge books at home but you will also find them at your school library and local library. Your child can read books at or above their stage level.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to support the challenge to promote the development of literacy skills and a love of reading in their children.

The challenge runs until 30 August 2019. After this date, reading log submissions will not be accepted.

For further information about booklists, rules and tips, visit the Premier's Reading Challenge webiste, or see Mrs Risi.
